God Wants to Continue to Bless America with Great Men and Fathers

The following was written by a Pastor friend of mine named Ryan Carpenter. He was asked to write it by the local newspaper, and believe it or not they are going to print it.

God Wants to Continue to Bless America with Great Men and Fathers

The Bible says, "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." I meet people all the time that say, "Well God cannot forgive this sin or that sin in my past." My reply to that is that He absolutely can, just ask Him to forgive you by faith. Believe in God today and ask Him to forgive all your sins and He will. One of the greatest verses in the Bible is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." When a person calls on Jesus to save them from their sins, they reap the benefits on earth and in heaven.

I want to speak to the fathers of this wonderful country for moment. If America is going to continue to be a great land it must have Fathers that come to Christ by faith and repent of their sins. I might add, march to God’s orders and not those of His flesh. Essentially, a father needs to be a new creation in Christ. When a man is born-again the Bible says that he is made new. Second Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." Once a man is a new creation in Christ, he must strive to live in God’s chosen role for him. Only now will he be what God wants him to be as a man. The Bible address a way that a man should live in Ephesians 5:25-28. "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her; that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." There are so many men that are stubborn today. If they will just submit and live the way that God wants them to live it would solve a lot of issues. This all means loving Jesus above anything and second loving your wife if you are married. These verses are a beautiful picture of Christ loving His church. If only a husband would love His wife as Christ loves the church.

In my opinion, God has given the more difficult role to men of this great land. Men it is time to act like men. Men and Fathers it is time to stand up and live out the kind of role that God has for you. May God continue to bless America with great male leadership. What a joy and honor it is to serve God as a man and a father. Happy Fathers Day!
